Nation's Leading Self-Publishing Service Company Chooses Long Time Book Publishing Operations Expert To Lead New Growth Initiatives

PENNSAUKEN, N.J, Jan. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- BookBaby is pleased to announce that Jim Foley has been chosen to become brand president effective immediately. Serving previously as VP of BookBaby, Foley has been a key contributor in developing BookBaby's products and services and has been instrumental in the brand's tremendous growth.

"I'm excited that BookBaby is in good hands with Jim, who will be responsible for driving the future of our book business," said Tony van Veen, CEO of parent company DIY Media Group, Inc. "Jim has been with DIY Media Group for over two decades, working-and excelling-in many areas of operations as well as front of house."

Foley replaces Steven Spatz, who has led the company since 2015. Spatz will remain with the brand as president-emeritus and contribute marketing content, communication, and brand strategy.

"Under Steven's leadership we have built what is, in my opinion, the most robust platform for authors to professionally publish their books and find success in the marketplace," said Foley. "Our amazing team of publishing professionals is providing editing services, book design services, digital book production, metadata optimization, and all of the other creative services a traditional publishing house provides."

Foley worked his way up from the ground floor, with over a decade spent managing logistics, production planning, and procurement in DIY's music brand, Disc Makers. He moved to the book side in 2011 with the launch of BookBaby's book printing program. Foley grew to assume responsibility for all publishing, printing, and distribution operations.

"I'm a musician and creative artist who became a customer of this company as a teenager and then an employee at 22," said Foley. "I know firsthand the challenges independent authors face in all aspects of the creative, publishing, promotion, and selling processes. I've spent the last 22 years working to help level the playing field for my fellow independent creatives so that they can be positioned in the marketplace for the most success possible."

Foley spearheaded BookBaby's rapid growth and development of its book printing operation. "We continue to invest in our state-of-the-art book manufacturing facilities," said Foley. "Our flagship 150,000 sq. ft. factory in NJ is producing bookstore quality books in all the popular formats to support every genre in the marketplace."

"In 2020, we launched the BookBaby Publishing app so that our authors can see their distribution information on the go," Foley continued. "We are focusing on new opportunities to help our authors to grow their readership. We have a lot of exciting enhancements to the BookBaby Publishing Platform that are going to be game-changing for our authors in the years to come."

"I'm incredibly excited about the future of professional independent book publishing and all of the opportunities BookBaby Publishing is creating for our authors to win the attention of readers."
