On February 13, 2024, JRC experienced a ransomware attack. JRC immediately reported the attack to federal law enforcement and engaged a team of cybersecurity experts to secure its network and conduct a forensic investigation to determine whether any data or personal information was impacted. JRC continued providing care and instruction to its students during its investigation. On March 25, 2024, the investigation determined that certain data was impacted. JRC then began a review of the data to determine whether any personal information was accessed or acquired as a result of this incident. On September 5, 2024, JRC determined that some personal information was affected.
On October 3, 2024, JRC mailed notice to all impacted individuals for whom it could locate address information and also notified appropriate state regulators and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The impacted information may have included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification card numbers, medical information, and/or health insurance information. As part of its response, JRC has implemented additional security measures to minimize the risk of a similar incident occurring in the future. JRC is providing complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals via TransUnion. JRC has also established a dedicated toll-free call center to support individuals with questions about the incident. The call center can be reached at 1-844-428-0742, Monday to Friday from 8:00 A.M.
