The Alertus solution uses unique Alert Beacons - wall mounted devices with sounder and strobes to capture the attention of personnel, coupled with an integrated digital message display to inform about the nature of the emergency and appropriate response. "When everything else is down (power, internet, cellular congestion) emergency managers can push notifications across their facilities with complete confidence," said Blake Robertson, CTO of Alertus.

Alert Beacons are part of an expandable multimodal facility alerting solution that also includes digital signage override, desktop alerting, panic buttons, LED marquee displays, and fire alarm audio and voice PA interfaces leveraging breakthrough text-to-speech technology to cover all occupied spaces.

"Alertus is proud to be helping DoD protect its people and assets against acts of violence and terrorism, natural disasters, biological, chemical, or nuclear emergencies, and other threats," said Jason Volk, CEO of Alertus. "Timely, reliable mass notification allows members of our armed forces to communicate critical information to save lives, and Alertus is privileged to continue its work with U.S. Army Garrisons."

The Alertus solution has been widely adopted across America. Most recently, at U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Kansas State University, Missouri Western State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Virginia, and University of Kentucky together with Lexington Fayette Urban County Government.

Military installations are increasingly implementing Alert Beacons to become compliant with the Department of Defense's Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for mass notification (MNS). The Alertus solution is also compliant with ADA requirements and the 2010 National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code (NFPA72-2010), and is featured in the official NFPA72 Code Handbook in Chapter 24 on Emergency Communications Systems.

About Alertus Technologies:
