Molecular Devices Fast-Tracks High-Quality Imaging and Analysis with New ImageXpress HCS.ai High-Content Screening System
Friday, January 24, 2025

The modular, high-throughput solution captures exceptional imagery from diverse samples and extracts new insights using AI-driven analysis

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Molecular Devices, LLC., a leading high-performance life science solutions provider, today launched the ImageXpress® HCS.ai High-Content Screening System. This fifth-generation high-content imager is distinguished by its ability to quickly capture crystal-clear images of complex cell models, acquire detailed data with intuitive software, and offer deep insights leveraging AI-driven analysis. Advanced modules provide the flexibility to excel in a wide variety of assays and the configurable design enables easy upgrades, allowing researchers to seamlessly integrate enhanced system capabilities as laboratory needs change.

"In the life sciences, excellence should never come at the cost of compromise, where researchers are forced to choose between image quality and speed, or between ease of use and analytical accuracy," said Mary Duseau, President of Molecular Devices. "Our extensive experience engineering industry-leading high-content screening solutions has culminated in the ImageXpress HCS.ai High-Content Screening System. We're setting a new standard in image acquisition and AI-powered analysis, helping customers make the most of their investments now and in the future."

Key Features and Benefits

-- Speed and Efficiency: The redesigned MetaXpress Acquire software is now
more intuitive and user-friendly, making it even easier to design
experiments and manage complex workflows. The imager's accelerated
acquisition speeds allow for imaging more plates in less time, such as
completing an entire 96-well plate with two channels in under 90 seconds
and a 3D volumetric analysis of a 384-well plate in just 25 minutes.
-- Modularity and Configurability: Interchangeable components and
customizable options include confocal capability with a choice of four
spinning disks, water immersion objectives, a magnification changer,
environmental control, and 5-color LED or 7-color laser illumination
allowing seamless multiplexing. This flexibility provides a versatile
platform for optimal results in both simple and complex assays, with the
easy addition of new features as research needs evolve. Most upgrades
can be performed on-site by expert technicians, minimizing downtime and
        reducing costs.
-- Image Quality and AI-powered Insights: Improved optics and hardware,
such as a highly sensitive 95% peak quantum efficiency sCMOS camera,
deliver detailed, high-resolution images from 2D and 3D models, as well
as live cell experiments. Integrated and easy-to-use AI-powered IN
Carta® Image Analysis Software facilitates new discoveries from
challenging datasets, making detailed, machine-learning-enabled data
analysis accessible to researchers of all experience levels.
