-- World's first Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow(TM) gateway, now
available for $99 on Mouser
-- FCC, IC, and RCM certified, bringing extended-range gateway featuring
Wi-Fi 4 and HaLow to the United States, Canadian and Australian markets
SYDNEY and IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Morse Micro, the world's leading provider of Wi-Fi HaLow chips, today announced the general availability of the world's first Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi HaLow gateway - certified by Wi-Fi Alliance. Featuring FCC, IC, and RCM certification, this breakthrough device enables developers, system integrators, and manufacturers to harness the power of long-range, energy-efficient Wi-Fi HaLow combined with traditional Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) connectivity in a single, compact gateway. The HaLowLink 1 now shipping to developers via Mouser for $99.
"The certification of the HaLowLink 1 reinforces the growing importance of reliable, interoperable Wi-Fi HaLow products in the connectivity ecosystem," said Maureen Gallagher, VP of Marketing at Wi-Fi Alliance. "With its extended range and low-power capabilities, Wi-Fi HaLow is a powerful solution for IoT applications, and Morse Micro is committed to accelerating adoption by delivering high-quality products through the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® program."
At the heart of the gateway is Morse Micro's Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow(TM) MM6108 silicon, delivering extended-range and low-power wireless communication, alongside the Mediatek MT7621A dual-core CPU and MT7603E 2Ă—2 Wi-Fi 4 solution for seamless integration with legacy Wi-Fi devices. With Wi-Fi 4 speeds of up to 300Mbps at 40MHz bandwidth, and Wi-Fi HaLow speeds of 32Mbps at 8MHz bandwidth, the device ensures robust connectivity across vast environments.
The HaLowLink 1 offers a wide variety of use cases, showcasing its versatility in supporting both Wi-Fi HaLow and traditional Wi-Fi networks. These include:
-- Creating Wi-Fi HaLow networks: Use HaLowLink 1 as an access point to
create Wi-Fi HaLow networks for 900 MHz Wi-Fi HaLow enabled client
devices as well as providing connectivity for existing 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4,
Ethernet and Ethernet-over-USB devices.
-- Connecting devices to Wi-Fi HaLow networks: Use HaLowLink 1 to connect
legacy Wi-Fi 4 and ethernet devices on to Wi-Fi HaLow networks extending
their usable range. Connect devices to HaLowLink 1 via Ethernet, 2.4 GHz
Wi-Fi or USB which can then send data over Wi-Fi HaLow.
-- Extending the range of existing networks: Connect a HaLowLink 1 to the
central network and then another HaLowLink1 as an extender to provide
2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity to devices in difficult to reach
locations and link them over Wi-Fi HaLow back to the central network.
-- Virtual wire: Replace Ethernet cables with 2 x HaLowLink 1 devices for
long-range wireless connectivity over Wi-Fi HaLow. Easy setup is
possible with a simple button press to pair devices together.
Morse Micro is committed to driving the future of Wi-Fi HaLow technology," said Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Micro. "With the launch of the world's first Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi HaLow CERTIFIED gateway, we're equipping developers with a powerful tool to explore the extended-range, low-power connectivity benefits of Wi-Fi HaLow, paving the way for widespread adoption."
Availability and certification in key markets
Morse Micro's HaLowLink 1 Wi-Fi 4 + HaLow Router is now certified for operation in North America (FCC), Canada (IC), and Australia (RCM), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. While not yet available in other regions, Morse Micro has confirmed that certification efforts are underway to bring variants of the HaLowLink 1 to the EMEA and APAC markets in the near future.
The Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi HaLow CERTIFIED gateway is available now for $99 on Mouser, providing developers and enterprises with an affordable and powerful solution to explore the capabilities of Wi-Fi HaLow.
The HaLowLink 1 can be purchased directly from Mouser here.
