CodaMetrix Announces A New Look, But Same Commitment to High Quality Automated Medical Coding
Wednesday, March 12, 2025
With this rebrand, the company is expanding beyond 25 health system partners in 26 states to transform revenue cycle management
BOSTON, March 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CodaMetrix, the leading AI-powered autonomous coding company, announced its rebrand today, holding true with the same name and commitment to excellence in automating medical coding, while introducing a new logo, tagline and color palette. Since its founding in 2019, the company has supported health systems of all sizes, including the nation's leading academic health centers, with its AI-powered platform - allowing for automated coding capabilities across multiple specialties. Developed in partnership with Mass General Brigham, the platform autonomously translates clinical documentation into billing codes, ultimately streamlining the coding process and improving revenue cycle management.
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, 20-25% of U.S. healthcare spending is wasted on administrative and revenue cycle tasks, and coding represents the most expensive component of the revenue cycle. Research by Becker's Hospital Review also found that 80% of U.S. medical bills contain errors, resulting in $210 billion in annual costs. The same research determined that up to 75% of medical bills contain coding errors. Automating coding is a critical step to re-imaging and building better healthcare reimbursement models.
"Accurate, high-quality autonomous medical coding has never been more critical to the healthcare industry than it is right now," said Robin Lloyd, Chief Operating Officer at CodaMetrix. "Our work with the top academic health institutions in the U.S. allows us to train our AI models on the real, impactful data needed to make a difference on our customers' bottom line. Now that we are delivering high-quality, autonomous coding across the care continuum, this rebrand is a visual manifestation of our shift to unlocking clinical and financial value throughout the patient journey."
CodaMetrix's platform offers autonomous, touchless medical coding and coding decision support across specialties including radiology, pathology, evaluation & management, endoscopy, and surgery. Since February 2023, the company has closed both its Series A and Series B funding rounds, securing a total of $95 million. Last August, CodaMetrix announced that its platform is available in the Epic Toolbox, and more recently, the company received Mayo Clinic's annual VIBE (Value -- Innovation -- Belonging -- Empowerment) award, given to the highest performing technology project across the health system. Customers across the board are recognizing CodaMetrix's power to transform their revenue cycle processes.
"Since integrating CodaMetrix's platform into our RCM system in 2022, we have eliminated our historical coding backlog and reduced coder overtime," said Barbara Scully, UMass Memorial Medical Center's Associate Vice President of Physician Billing. "The improvements have been significant--our automation rate has increased by 15% since go-live, now reaching 86% and exceeding internal goals. The use of AI to automate coding through CodaMetrix's platform has streamlined our coding processes and enhanced clinical detail, ultimately contributing to better outcomes. We're exploring expansion into additional service lines within our health system."
