UTRECHT, Netherlands, March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The survey of the immersive technology knowledge platform Metamandrill.com, completed by 1,299 industry professionals and enthusiasts, reveals significant trends in immersive tech interests, with education and training emerging as the primary focus for 61% of respondents, while showing strong interest in specialized hardware adoption ranging from 38% to 45%.

The survey shows a significant interest in specialized hardware. Mobile devices remain strong at 54%, with computer/console options following at 48%. Specialized hardware like VR (45%), mixed reality (44%), and AR headsets (38%) show substantial interest, reflecting growing acceptance of technology specifically designed for immersive experiences.
This aligns with market projections, as global shipments of AR and VR headsets are expected to grow from 6.7 million units in 2024 to 22.9 million by 2028, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.3%, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).
