Tuesday, April 22, 2025
WAKEFIELD, Mass., April 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd, a leading provider of integrated defense capabilities and technologies, announced today it was re-awarded a contract to develop new interventions for wound infections and pre-injury Point-of-Injury (POI), and post-injury care within the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Center for Military Infectious Disease Research (CIDR), Bacterial Diseases Branch (BDB), and the Wound Infections Department (WID).
"The proven performance of Odyssey's Life Sciences Group directly resulted in being re-awarded this contract," said Stefania Dobre, Executive Director of Odyssey's Life Sciences Group. "These advancements in countermeasures are critical to sustaining and supporting the warfighter and mission-readiness."
With an estimated contract value of over $20 million, research objectives align to the WID's focus on defeating combat-related wound infections such as bacterial pathogens of military relevance and the immunopathogenesis of infection including structural biology, bacteriophage therapeutics, traumatology and bacterial pathogenesis.
"Our research will be essential to producing new interventions that can be used in multi-domain operations and will ensure effective and transformative treatment for the most drug-resistant infections in the field, in theatre or stateside, even under prolonged conditions," said Dr. Bob McLinden, Senior Program Manager at Odyssey Systems.
