Construction Safety Leader HammerTech Debuts First Wave of AI-Powered Capabilities to Automate Site Safety Admin & Reduce Risk
Wednesday, July 9, 2025

CHICAGO, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Construction site safety leader HammerTech has launched HammerTech Intelligence -- a powerful, evolving suite of AI-powered capabilities that automate site safety admin, unlock real-time insights, and help contractors make faster, more informed decisions on site.

With the construction industry under growing pressure to improve outcomes and reduce risk, artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a critical enabler. Safety leaders are seeking smarter, more connected systems that deliver timely insights and support confident, data-driven decisions at every stage of a project.

As the next evolution of a platform trusted on more than 20,000 projects and used to induct over five million workers across the world to date, HammerTech Intelligence lays the foundation for a new generation of tools that deliver deeper visibility, novel insights, and real-time support for safety-critical decisions.

And with the largest construction safety dataset globally, the safety intelligence leader is uniquely positioned to deliver this capability at a level no other provider can.

The first wave of HammerTech Intelligence capabilities:

-- Pre-Task Plan Meeting Capture: Foremen and safety leads can record their
daily PTP meetings and upload them into HammerTech. HammerTech
Intelligence transcribes the conversation in moments and identifies 'key
tasks', 'hazards', and 'controls' to ensure effortless, structured
        documentation.

-- Observation Photo Recognition: Users can attach a photo to a safety
observation. HammerTech Intelligence analyzes it and suggests the most
appropriate 'type', 'classification', and 'description'. This speeds up
reporting, improves accuracy and consistency, and makes it easier to act
        on quality data.
-- SDS Form Autofill: Subcontractors can upload a safety data sheet, and
HammerTech Intelligence automatically extracts relevant content and
populates the required form fields. This eliminates repetitive data
entry, reduces errors, and gives teams their time back to focus on the
        job at hand.

Ben Leach, CEO and Co-Founder, HammerTech: "We've always focused on solving real-world site safety challenges -- never chasing gimmicks, flashy features, or adding complexity for the sake of it. In an industry where crews are under constant time pressures, we believe technology should always simplify, not complicate.

"HammerTech Intelligence reflects that belief. Each capability is practical, grounded in real workflows, and built to transform what's possible on site, cutting admin, improving visibility, and helping teams act faster with confidence."

Joshua Bullock, CHST - Safety Manager, Gray Construction: "HammerTech Intelligence is going to provide much-needed efficiency in our daily safety planning efforts, adding another valuable resource to our teams. HammerTech has been a trusted partner for years and this platform enhancement is really exciting."

Leach adds: "In recent years, the ideas of using safety data to empower better, earlier site safety decisions were a vision of where the industry could go. That future is already here.

"We've seen what happens when critical safety documents like PTPs or SDSs aren't properly filled out: limited visibility, mis-prioritized work, and added risk. Even when teams try to stay on top of it, they often end up buried in paperwork. HammerTech Intelligence eases that burden."

Andrew Barron, Chief Product Officer, HammerTech: "We knew from the start that AI would only be useful if it felt effortless to use. So, we built HammerTech Intelligence as part of the core platform - not as an add-on or a separate tool. That way, thousands of workers on site get the benefit immediately, without needing to change the way they already work.

"This first release is focused on everyday workflows - think Pre-Task Plans, Observations, and SDS forms - where admin overhead and missed detail create unnecessary risk. By reducing that load, we're helping crews stay focused on what matters in the field.

"Over time, the opportunity is even bigger. When you pair smart models with structured, construction-specific data, you can start to surface patterns, flag blind spots early, and support better safety decisions across the whole project."

This preview of HammerTech Intelligence will be available from July 8, 2025 to customers in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. For more information, visit hammertech.com.
