Octane and Avalanche Launch First Builder-Native Security Integration for Web3 Development
Wednesday, August 6, 2025

Joint integration embeds AI-powered vulnerability detection directly into Avalanche development workflows, eliminating security bottlenecks

SAN FRANCISCO, July 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Octane and Avalanche today announced a joint integration that brings AI-powered security directly into the Avalanche development ecosystem. The integration enables Web3 teams to catch vulnerabilities as they code, eliminating the delays and stress of traditional last-minute security audits.

Web3 teams typically wait until they're ready to launch before completing security audits, which often uncover critical issues that require weeks to fix. This forces teams to choose between shipping on time with known risks or delaying launch while scrambling to address vulnerabilities.

Octane's integration with Avalanche changes this by scanning code as developers write it. Teams get immediate alerts about potential vulnerabilities, allowing them to fix issues on the spot rather than discovering them days before deployment. The integration is specifically tuned to understand Avalanche's architecture, so alerts are relevant and actionable rather than generic warnings.

"Too many Web3 teams discover their biggest security issues right before launch," said Giovanni Vignone, CEO of Octane Security. "We've seen teams spend months building amazing protocols, only to hit major security roadblocks when they're trying to ship. That last-minute scramble is stressful, expensive and risky. Our joint integration lets Avalanche builders catch problems early when they're easy to fix, so they can deploy with confidence instead of crossing their fingers."

The integration works by connecting Octane's security platform directly to developer workflows. Octane has trained its detection models on Avalanche-specific architecture and documentation, which means fewer false positives and more accurate vulnerability detection for the ecosystem.

When developers commit code, Octane automatically scans for security issues and flags potential problems within their existing CI/CD pipeline.

Key benefits include:

-- Immediate Vulnerability Detection: Security scanning happens
automatically as code is written, catching issues before they become
        deployment blockers
-- Avalanche-Specific Intelligence: Detection models trained on Avalanche
documentation deliver relevant, actionable findings tailored to the
        ecosystem
-- Seamless Workflow Integration: Security feedback appears directly in
existing development tools, requiring no additional platforms or context
        switching
-- Faster Time to Market: Teams can deploy confidently with stronger
        security and faster audit timelines

Early Results

Since launching the integration, Octane has already demonstrated significant impact across the Avalanche ecosystem:

-- 210,881 lines of code scanned across participating projects
-- 177 pieces of actionable feedback delivered to development teams
-- 217 total findings flagged, including critical vulnerabilities missed in
        manual audits
-- Over $261 million in TVL protected across projects

Octane has also demonstrated outsized results for organizations globally, including within the Avalanche ecosystem. A notable success story includes Suzaku, a decentralization hub and marketplace that helps Avalanche L1s scale their validator sets. During Octane's comprehensive review of Suzaku's 48,000+ line codebase, the platform identified four critical and one high-severity vulnerabilities that could have enabled validator hijacking, unauthorized fund movement, and denial-of-service attacks across multiple networks.

"Octane didn't just throw alerts - the platform provided diff-ready patches so we could drop in role-based access controls and secure authorization checks in a single commit without breaking our flow," said Gauthier, Cofounder at Suzaku. "If you ship Solidity at scale, Octane is a no-brainer value-add to your CI pipeline."

The partnership addresses a fundamental tension in blockchain development between moving fast and building securely. Through this security integration, Avalanche teams can quickly connect their repositories to Octane and start receiving security feedback immediately.

"Security is essential for building in web3, but it's often the last step in the process. This integration flips that dynamic by embedding high-signal security checks directly into the development workflow, tailored specifically for Avalanche's architecture," said Eric Kang, Head of DeFi at Ava Labs. "It's a win for builders in the Avalanche ecosystem: faster iteration, lower audit costs, and more secure code from day one."

About Octane
Octane is your AI-powered security engineer, helping Web3 teams ship faster and safer by catching critical vulnerabilities before they become costly exploits. Our AI models are trained on thousands of real-world attack patterns to surface issues that traditional audits often miss. Built for developers, protocols, and security teams, Octane delivers continuous, real-time code security integrated directly into your CI/CD pipeline.

To date, Octane has analyzed 86M+ lines of code across leading Web3 ecosystems, safeguarding over $5.8B in assets and uncovering 100+ missed critical vulnerabilities. Trusted by top teams like Circle, Alchemy, Avalanche, and RedStone, Octane is redefining how decentralized applications build and maintain security from day one.

About Avalanche

Avalanche is an ultra-fast, low-latency blockchain platform designed for builders who need high performance at scale. The network's architecture allows for the creation of sovereign, efficient and fully interoperable public and private layer 1 (L1) blockchains which leverage the Avalanche Consensus Mechanism to achieve high throughput and near-instant transaction finality. The ease and speed of launching an L1, and the breadth of architectural customization choices, make Avalanche the perfect environment for a composable multi-chain future.

Supported by a global community of developers and validators, Avalanche offers a fast, low-cost environment for building decentralized applications (dApps). With its combination of speed, flexibility, and scalability, Avalanche is the platform of choice for innovators pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology.
