When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Stiver said, "I was inspired to write this book most of all out of the need for a return to God through His one and only Son the Lord Jesus Christ, in addition to our need for daily communion with him and for sincere repentance on the part of all of us. I am a simple Midwesterner from Fort Wayne and hope that anyone who reads this book feels a connection and joins with me in returning to God."
Richard Allen Stiver was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was adopted at the age of six and a half years old by a loving and nurturing woman, following his early childhood filled with rejection and separation. Stiver attended Ivy Tech and gained his nursing license in 1991. He has been working in Long-term and Skilled Nursing for nearly 45 years, 12 of those years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Stiver credits God's grace for the opportunity to be a published author of two books. His first book is titled, A Tapestry of Love: My Journey Back to Victory. Stiver's interests include cooking and Contemporary Christian music in addition to music from the 1930's and 1940's. His love for music extends to a desire to reach the goal of becoming a recording artist in the near future. Stiver has been singing since he was a young child.
