Thursday, January 22, 2026

DOYLESTOWN, Pa., Dec. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Bucks County Opportunity Council ("Bucks") issued notice of a recent data security event that potentially affected information related to certain individuals.

Bucks has been actively investigating an event involving unauthorized access to its computer network occurring in August 2025. As part of this investigation, Bucks worked with third-party specialists to secure the network and confirm the nature and scope of the event. The investigation determined that unauthorized access to certain systems occurred, and certain files were taken without authorization at that time.

Bucks completed a time-intensive and comprehensive review to determine whether any personal information was contained within the files. The information contained within the relevant files varies by individual and may include name, date of birth, Social Security number, taxpayer ID number, driver's license or state ID number, passport number, financial account information, payment card number, health insurance information, and medical information. While Bucks is providing notice of this incident via U.S. mail to individuals whose mailing address information is available and current, they are also providing notice of this incident via this media release and a posting on their website. Bucks is not aware of any actual or attempted misuse of anyone's information in connection with this incident.

Individuals seeking additional information regarding this incident may call a toll-free dedicated assistance line at 833-918-1119 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Central Time, Monday through Friday, excluding major U.S. holidays. Please reference engagement number B156936.

Individuals can also find information on how they can help protect their personal information, along with additional resources on Buck's website at https://bcoc.org/. As a precautionary measure, Bucks encourage potentially affected individuals to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft or fraud by reviewing account statements and credit reports for unusual activity and to detect errors. Any suspicious activity should be promptly reported to one's financial institution.

Bucks takes this incident and the security of the information in their care very seriously. As part of their ongoing commitment to the privacy of personal information in their care, they are reviewing existing security policies and implementing additional security measures to further protect against similar events occurring in the future.
