How Often Should You Redesign or Refresh Your Website?
Friday, January 12, 2018

NEW YORK, Jan. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Lounge Lizard is globally recognized as a top New York web design company, - within the web and mobile app development industry. Lounge Lizard's brandtenders are creative, tech-savvy, and passionate in developing innovative strategies that drive conversion for both startup and established clients of all industries, making them the "best of breed since 1998."How often should you redesign or refresh your website? Many experts will tell you to update your site every two to three years at a minimum. However, you may need to redesign or refresh your website more often.

How often you update your website depends on how well your site performs across a variety of metrics. If your website is struggling to produce results, it's time to make a change. Award-winning website design boutique, Lounge Lizard, explains the types of situations that necessitate a website update or redesign:

Too few leads. If your website isn't generating interest in your products or services, it's time to fix that. While a complete redesign is probably not warranted, you'll want to determine which parts of your site need an update. Usually, improving the copy on the websites addresses the issue of too few leads. Develop better calls to action and consider using separate landing pages for sign-ups, promotions, and giveaways.

Traffic but no conversions. If your website generates traffic but no conversions, it needs an update. Reassess the keywords on your site and make sure they're relevant. There's a difference between keywords that generate traffic and keywords that produce conversions. Direct the right visitors to your site by focusing on keywords that solve their challenges.

Your website is not "at a glance friendly." Consumers expect websites to be easy to navigate. Examine your website and decide whether a visitor could quickly get the information they need from your site. If visitors can't figure out where to go on your site within five seconds, you'll lose their interest. So, redesign your website to make it user friendly.

Outdated design. Websites that look like they're stuck in the 80s or 90s will have problems with credibility and trust. Those visiting your site will be less inclined to buy into your business. Your website doesn't have to be a trendsetter. It doesn't even have to boast the "in" design. It does, however, need to look up to date if you want to gain your visitors' confidence.

Not mobile friendly. A response website is a must. People visit sites using multiple devices. Your website needs to load quickly and look nice on tablets and smartphones. If it doesn't, re-designing your site to be mobile-friendly needs to be at the top of your list.
