Patents extend innovative lead held by HyperRoll in data warehouse performance management
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- HyperRoll, Inc., the
leading provider of Data Performance Management software, today announced that
the U.S. Patent and Trade office issued HyperRoll patent number 7,392,248 on
June 24, 2008. This is the third of three related new patents granted to
HyperRoll so far in 2008. "This clearly demonstrates HyperRoll's commitment
to extending and protecting its already extensive IP portfolio," commented Guy
Shaked, HyperRoll co-founder and CTO.
These three patents are the result of research and development work by
HyperRoll to improve performance of existing data warehouses. The patents
cover innovations that improve load times, query times, workload throughput,
ease of changes and administration simplicity for enterprise data warehouses
and data marts. These improvements are obtained by deploying a
multi-dimensional data structure alongside a relational database. That
structure is then accessible transparently via SQL from within the relational
database. With the deployment of HyperRoll, complex structures of summary
tables, indexes, derived OLAP cubes and sub-set data marts are avoided along
with their consumption of administration and system resources. Business
decision makers that use data from data warehouses gain access to near
real-time data when they need it.
"Our customers value HyperRoll because they can deploy operational BI
applications and be sure they scale without worrying about unexpected
downstream hardware upgrades," said Michael Bealmear, CEO of HyperRoll. "As
the premier vendor of multi-dimensional data performance enhancement to data
warehouses, these patents solidify our ability to support our customers now
and in the future."
The three patents granted by the U.S. Patent Office to HyperRoll in 2008
so far are:
7,392,248 (Granted June 24, 2008) Data aggregation server supporting rapid
query response with sparse multi-dimensional data.
7,333,982 (Granted February 19, 2008) Information system having a mode of
operation in which queries form one or more clients are serviced using
aggregated data retrieved from a plurality of different types of data storage
structures for improved query performance.
7,315,849 (Granted January 1, 2008) Enterprise-wide data warehouse with
integrated data aggregation engine.
