Skylert Offers Instant Notifications for School Cancellations, Emergencies
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
New software from Skyward allows K-12 schools to send out emergency notifications via phone, text messaging, and/or email
STEVENS POINT, Wis., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyward, the industry leading
K-12 school management system, announced today the availability of Skylert,
the newest way for school districts to quickly send mass notifications.
Messages can be sent via phone, email, and/or text message to employees,
parents, and students in the case of an emergency.
The release of Skylert comes at a time when school districts are
struggling more than ever to communicate to parents and employees during a
school emergency. Skylert offers a solution to this problem with the
capability to send thousands of notifications in less than three minutes
through multiple mediums to ensure the emergency message is received.
"Skylert provides a fast and easy setup process and does not require any
additional hardware or extraneous tasks for IT departments to keep the alert
system running," said Kevin McFerrin, Skyward Vice President of New Business.
"It's always there and always available 24/7/365."
Working directly from a district's existing Skyward database, Skylert is a
huge timesaver that eliminates the need for district personnel to make manual
calls. School districts can choose between a three call pack for emergency
use only or unlimited calls/SMS text messaging.
Skylert is fully integrated with Skyward Family Access, allowing parents
to select how they prefer to be contacted in an emergency -- through phone,
email, and/or text message. Parents can update the preference and contact
information at anytime and as often as they like.
Since 1980, Skyward has been serving the K-12 Administrative software
needs of school districts. Today, Skyward's School Management System(TM) is
found in over 1,200 school districts throughout the United States and
internationally. Skyward's School Management System represents an integrated
student and financial management software system designed to keep
administrators, educators, and families connected. In addition to their
corporate headquarters located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Skyward has nine
regional offices located throughout the country.
