American Democracy Heads Towards Socialism, According to New Book by John Rigazio
Thursday, September 04, 2008

"National Politics is Everybody's Business" claims, "While you were sleeping, your country's fiscal irresponsibility pushed the government deeper and deeper into Socialism"

BARRINGTON, N.H., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- In 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson said in his inaugural speech that he was guaranteeing all Americans everything because they were Americans. That is when John Rigazio decided that "National Politics is Everybody's Business" (published by AuthorHouse - http://www.authorhouse.com).

Rigazio states:

"I never went to college and I am computer illiterate. So what is it in my educational background that gives me the right to offer constructive criticism to our federal government on the many grave problems facing our country?

"Above all, it is my Constitutional right of Freedom of Speech! The first part of my education was strong parental guidance. Next, the U.S. Army Infantry drafted me and I spent 2 years getting the education of a lifetime. I was a businessman for 50 years in the wholesale/retail food business, dealing with the biggest business in the U.S. I watch all the TV news and financial channels and I read one or more newspapers every day.

"Perhaps my greatest lesson on what it means to be an American came from my father, John Batista Rigazio, a great American. He passed away in 1949, when I was 17. My father was the only one in the family that had emigrated from Italy as a teenager. He started in the brickyards, and later opened three retail fruit and produce businesses. He spoke three languages fluently, but would not allow my mother to teach us Italian. In his mind, we were Americans of Italian descent, NOT Italians living in America. The one lesson that he taught me that I will never forget is: 'America is the land of opportunity, NOT the land of guarantee.'

"So that being said, I never wrote a letter to the editor, never questioned my federal government's decisions, but when LBJ gave his inaugural speech, that all changed. From 1964 to today, I have been following our country's building on the 1964/68 socialistic foundation laid out by LBJ and his Great Society programs. Read: 'National Politics Is Everybody's Business' and see if you agree."

John Rigazio was born in Rochester in 1931, the son of Italian immigrants. He lives in Barrington, NH. He is a past president of Rochester Lions Club, a former member of Rochester Kiwanis, and belongs to Rochester Elks, American Legion Post 7 and the Rochester Rotary. He was named Rochester Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2003. He was also a member of New Hampshire Retail Grocers' Association.
