The Industrial Internet Consortium and AIM Announce Liaison

Organizations to collaborate on IIoT across many industries

NEEDHAM, Mass., Nov. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC), the world's leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and AIM, the trusted worldwide industry association for the automatic identification industry, announced they have agreed to a liaison to work together to advance their shared interests. Under the agreement, the IIC and AIM will work together to align efforts to maximize interoperability, portability, security and privacy for the industrial internet.

Joint activities between the IIC and AIM will include:

    --  Identifying and sharing best practices
    --  Collaboration on standards and specifications
    --  Positioning AIM and IIC speakers at AIM Liaison partner's events
    --  Collaboration on testbeds

"Automatic identification and data capture technologies are key IIoT enabling technologies for healthcare, food and beverage, automotive and other markets," said Wael William Diab, Chair of the IIC Liaison Working Group and Secretary of the IIC Steering Committee. "By collaborating, our organizations can accelerate the digital transformation through adoption of IIoT across industries."

Mary Lou Bosco, Chief Operating Officer of AIM, Inc., echoed Diab's sentiment, "We are truly excited at the prospect of working with the Industrial Internet Consortium. The IIC Liaison Working Group is the gateway for formal relationships with standards and open-source organizations, consortia, alliances, certification and testing bodies and government entities/agencies.
