Kendall to Run all Technology and Engineering at Blockthrough

TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Blockthrough, the market leader in Adblock Revenue Recovery, today announced the appointment of Prebid.js co-creator Matt Kendall as the company's new Head of Engineering. In his new role at Blockthrough, Kendall will be responsible for solving engineering challenges, as well as hiring and growing the team of engineers.

Kendall joins Blockthrough from Xandr, AT&T's advanced advertising unit, where he served as an engineering manager, as well as authoring and serving as Tech Lead on Prebid.js, the world's most widely-adopted header-bidding technology. In 2015, Kendall co-created Prebid.js with Paul Yang from AppNexus, going on to serve as Chair of the Prebid.js Product Management Committee ("PMC") at Prebid.org, the independent organization that oversees the various incarnations of Prebid. As PMC Chair, Kendall has been one of the leading contributors to Prebid.js and has led significant improvements to Prebid since then. He will stay on in his role at Prebid.org alongside his work at Blockthrough.

"Matt is an AdTech veteran who brings not only experience in leading high-performing engineering teams, but also unparalleled expertise with Prebid, one of the core technologies our product relies on," said Marty Kratky-Katz, Co-Founder and CEO at Blockthrough. "Prebid has been described by Rubicon's Michael Barrett as the Linux of AdTech, and Matt built Prebid.js from scratch."

"Blockthrough has led the industry in recovering the revenue lost to adblocking for publishers. This will be a critical revenue stream for publishers as adblockers proliferate and Blockthrough has consistently led innovation in this arena," said Kendall. "I'm excited about my new role and for my expertise to be put to use in this rising sector in AdTech and to join forces with a leader in the industry."
