iboss to deliver Security as a Service for Microsoft Azure connected users and devices

BOSTON, Dec. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, iboss announced it has become a trusted security partner for Microsoft and is natively delivering Security as a Service for Microsoft Azure connected users and devices. With this announcement, organizations have another resource to secure traffic originating from Azure virtual networks, or VNets, automatically using simple configuration. Security is automatically configured by iboss and all routing of Azure network traffic is automatically handled by the service without manual user configuration. The collaboration between iboss and Microsoft allows mutual customers to start building their Azure security edge to ensure SaaS and Cloud Application traffic can be secured close to the user regardless of their location.

Internet security is configured via Microsoft Virtual WAN which connects iboss cloud security to Azure Virtual Hubs to which users, devices and networks are connected. The Azure Virtual Hub interacts with iboss to automatically route Internet-bound data, at scale, through the iboss cloud security stack. There are many scenarios that are supported that allow Internet traffic to be secured from Azure:

-- Internet traffic from Virtual Networks (VNets) can be automatically
routed through iboss for cloud security to protect Internet access for
        Azure workloads
-- Internet traffic from branch offices can be automatically secured with
cloud security by connecting offices to Azure Virtual Hubs which
automatically routes traffic through iboss for cloud security

"The announcement of Security as a Service via iboss and Microsoft Azure Firewall Manager is a major milestone for cloud security. It simplifies the complexities of planning, implementing and scaling Internet security by abstracting the configuration details and automatically enabling cloud security with a few configuration clicks," said Paul Martini, CEO at iboss. "We are very excited to partner with Microsoft to deliver leading cloud security for Internet-bound traffic in a SaaS delivery model in way that has never been achieved before."

As a Trusted Security Partner for Azure Firewall Manager, iboss was highlighted throughout the Microsoft Ignite conference including the "What's new in Azure Networking" session by Yousef Khalidi, CVP, Azure Networking and the "Securing your cloud perimeter with Azure Network Security" session from Sinead O'Donovan, Director, Program Management, Azure Networking. In addition, the offering was announced in the "Building & Managing distributed micro-perimeters with Azure Firewall" session by Yair Tor, Principal Program Manager, Azure Networking. The announcement of iboss as a Microsoft Trusted Security Partner for Azure Firewall Manager comes at a time of other major announcements by iboss, including iboss and FireEye partnering to deliver FireEye in the cloud. The FireEye partnership delivers world-class threat protection for organizations instantly and at scale, including protecting users and devices regardless of location. With iboss as a trusted security partner capable of securing Azure workloads, FireEye best-in-class threat protection can now easily be applied to Azure workloads as well. This results in one of the best security efficacies for cloud workloads, delivered 100% as a service. This capability is unique to iboss as a Microsoft security partner that can deliver FireEye protection to Azure, in the cloud.
