Enterprises Continue to Adopt Morphisec to Protect Virtual Desktop Environments Against Unknown Threats
BE'ER SHEVA, ISRAEL and BOSTON, Jan. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Morphisec, a leader in Moving Target Defense, today announced that it has joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program for its Unified Threat Prevention platform. This certification by VMware completes a rigorous evaluation process and validates Morphisec as customer fit in the protection of VMware Horizon VDI environments in both persistent and non-persistent pooled modes.
Morphisec, based on Moving Target Defense, consumes no CPU or memory resources, which makes it well-suited to VMware Horizon VDI deployments, enhancing security without adding performance overhead. As a result, enterprises dramatically increase their ability to prevent advanced malware, fileless threats, unknown zero days, and browser-based attacks in virtual desktop environments.
"We are pleased that Morphisec and its Unified Threat Prevention platform is validated for VMware Horizon VDI Protection," said Kristen Edwards, Director of Alliances, VMware. "The inclusion of the Unified Threat Prevention platform into VMware's marketplace indicates that Morphisec has met VMware interoperability standards. This signifies to VMware customers they can deploy Morphisec's Unified Threat Prevention platform into Horizon VDI environments."
Similar to physical endpoints, virtual instances are equally vulnerable to attacks and require robust protection. However, VDI resource constraints to CPU and memory make antivirus or detection security approaches unsuitable for individual virtual machines. Morphisec's lightweight architecture based on Moving Target Defense does not require analytics, signature updates, reboots, tuning or online connectivity in order to protect resource-sensitive VDI environments against advanced unknown threats.
"The rapid adoption of Virtual desktops has brought on unforeseen security blind spots that are being increasingly exploited," said Andrew Homer, VP of Business Development at Morphisec. "VDI environments are extremely sensitive to CPU and memory consumption, making it difficult to deploy traditional anti-malware tools. Morphisec's lightweight design based on Moving Target Defense, allows for greater protection for pooled non-persistent virtual machines without sacrificing precious VDI resources."
In addition to VMware Horizon, Morphisec is also certified with other VDI solutions on the market. Earlier this year, Morphisec was awarded a special VDI design project with the Department of Homeland Security for the protection of its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Morphisec's Unified Threat Prevention platform also protects physical workstation, server and cloud workloads and extends this same level advanced protection to VDI Horizon guest machines.
Morphisec is available online at the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX). The VMware Solution Exchange is an online marketplace where VMware partners and developers can publish rich marketing content and downloadable software for customers.
