NASSCOM Foundation, TechSoup, and Eagle Conferencing Launch Free Conferencing Services to All Non-Profit Organizations in India
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
BANGLORE, MUMBAI, NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- NASSCOM Foundation (www.nasscomfoundation.org), TechSoup, and Eagle Conferencing (www.eagleconferencing.in) today announced the launch of free conferencing services to nonprofit groups to boost charity in India. The free conference call donation will be routed through a technology assistance program that India's NASSCOM Foundation is offering in partnership with TechSoup, a San Francisco-based group that partners in charity work with companies like Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Symantec. NASSCOM Foundation is the principal TechSoup partner in India, and is well positioned for successful outreach to build communication capacities at the grassroots given its association with the IT industry and links with non-profit organizations in India.
NGOs play an increasingly important role in citizen welfare services. In addition to increasingly complex social issues, these organizations face shrinking fund sources and a growing demand for transparency, all of which can be addressed by the efficient use of telecommunication applications. Conferencing services can help ensure efficient communications, immediate networking globally, and ultimately greater execution results.
At the launch of this free conferencing services, Ms Rufina Fernandez, CEO NASSCOM Foundation said, "We are proud to unveil our new Communication Technology offering. This implementation is vital to our NGO partners to create regional, national and even global business networking. Our goal is to provide to NGOs all technology and communication tools which are available in the corporate world. Eagle Conferencing is perfectly suited to address this audio conferencing need for NGO's operational productivity."
Kent Charugundla, founder and CEO of EagleNet Group, said, "Eagle Conferencing India is delighted and honored to be a partner of Nasscom Foundations' social program and to be its corporate donor in India. We, as NRI, have an obligation to serve Indian society and set-up a shining example of being a solid corporate citizen. We are very privileged with this prestigious relationship considering the short period that our service has been active in India, and it clearly demonstrates the value creation of our innovative Conference Call services to both corporate as well as NGOs."
Mr. Mike Yeaton, Global Director - TechSoup, spoke about TechSoup, NASSCOM Foundation and Eagle Conferencing: "TechSoup is very excited to be partnering with NASSCOM Foundation and Eagle Conferencing to deliver this flagship conferencing service in India. India is extremely important technology market, and we are energized with this innovative program. With this audio conferencing we will deliver innovative ways to reach non-profit communities to connect globally."
