New Design Yields Immediate Results of Almost 70% Increase in Traffic for Internet Baked Goods and Gifts Retailer
CASTLE ROCK, Colo., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- CoffeeCakes.com, a gourmet
baked goods and specialty gifts Internet retailer, today announced that its
newly designed website has successfully completed beta testing and will become
the company's official web site and online store.
The new website was designed by Colorado Web Solutions, a website design
and search engine marketing services provider. In the first few days of
testing the new design, traffic to CoffeeCakes.com's site increased by
approximately 70% -- largely attributable to the site's enhanced search engine
optimization capabilities. Also, the company has seen a sharp increase in
catalog requests (up 2,500%) over this time last year. This is most likely
due to the fact that every page of the website now offers a "request for
catalog" option.
In today's economy, when marketing dollars are at a premium, companies may
be reluctant to commit the necessary capital to redesigning their websites for
Search Engine Marketing (SEM). However, it has been determined that 85% of all
visits to websites originate through major search engine and shopping engine
searches. It has also been determined that 62% of search engine users click
on the links that are listed on the first page of their search engine results.
Most SEM experts agree that companies should do their utmost to be ranked
within the top 10 listings of a search engine result.
The rising importance of SEM is validated by the fact that the North
American SEM industry grew from $9.4 billion in 2006 to $12.2 billion in 2007
according to the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO).
"Experts tell us that we should reevaluate our websites every two years,"
said Sherry Comes, President and Founder of CoffeeCakes.com. "At
CoffeeCakes.com, we know we have a great product and exceptional customer
service, but that's all meaningless if our customers and prospective customers
never find our site or find it difficult to use."
Matt Sampson, CEO of Colorado Web Solutions, has a proven track record in
creating website designs that result in client success. "We don't just design
websites, we design businesses," says Sampson. Initially, Sampson projected
that CoffeeCakes.com would see at least a 25% increase in sales over the next
year because of the new design. His projection has proven to be conservative.
CoffeeCakes.com has actually realized an increase in revenue of 65% over this
time last year -- partly attributable to the web redesign -- but also
attributable to a concerted marketing push that includes email marketing, PR
and creative call center programs.
CoffeeCakes.com will also work with Colorado Web Solutions to launch a
second online store called MyBlueDaisy.com in 2009.
