iBiquity's Bi-Annual HD Radio(TM) Development Forum in Shenzhen, China, Attended by 250+ ODM & Receiver Manufacturer Executives

Executives from 50 Different Companies Participate In Seminar and Attend Partner Expo Highlighting HD Radio Technology Solutions

HONG KONG ELECTRONICS FAIR, China, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 250 consumer electronics industry executives attended iBiquity Digital Corporation's HD Radio Development Forum in Shenzhen, China, Friday, October 10, 2008, two days prior to the Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

"Our goal is to bring together the range of companies that build HD Radio products, from design through receiver manufacturing, to discuss the state of the industry and share the latest developments as the market grows," said Jeff Jury, COO, iBiquity Digital Corporation, the designer and licensor of HD Radio technology. "We want to make the end-to-end product rollout process as smooth as possible. This is our sixth training seminar and expo in Shenzhen. It is gratifying to see an entire product development and production industry being built around HD Radio technology."

The meeting included three concurrent training sessions and a 25-vendor HD Radio Exhibition. IC suppliers, module suppliers, test unit manufacturers, reference platform designers and software design houses were among the companies demonstrating their HD Radio solutions and services.

-- The Business Conference provided an in-depth overview of the state of HD Radio technology today, as well as looking to future features and products, including an update on the domestic and international rollout, products in the market, retail status, OEM automotive update, advanced features and services under development, and presentations from vendors who are working on next-generation HD Radio chips. The Conference also included presentations from iBiquity's leading module suppliers and HD Radio Design Houses.

-- An HD Radio Design Session included an overview of HD Radio architectures for the new Samsung SHDR200A Cayman-based chipset and SiPort SP1010, SDK 3.1; Certification Process Updates; Manufacturing Testing; and Hardware Design Considerations. The Hardware Design Considerations section provided an in depth overview of Features, Power Supply, EMC/EMI, and Design for Improved Sensitivity.

-- An HD Radio Features/Applications Session provided an overview from a technical perspective of SDK Software Tools, design and development of Traffic-based Services for PND Devices and Head Units, development of a Conditional Access-based radio, and iTunes(R) Tagging for iPod(R) and iPhone(R) docks.

IC and advanced services were featured, including updates from Clear Channel Communications, which gave an update on HD-TMC/MSN Direct HD Traffic Services, and Elektrobit, a navigation applications provider, which presented an overview of the MSN DirectHD implementation. Conditional access, iTunes Tagging, Store and Replay, and display standards were also discussed. Samsung EM, SiPort, Texas Instruments, NXP, and STMicroeletronics gave IC presentations. Leading HD Radio Design Houses, Kensen Technologies and SamBoo Infotech also presented.

iBiquity will be organizing another HD Radio Business Conference and Technology Update on April 10, 2009 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Shenzhen, China.
