CafeMom Expands Sales and Marketing Roster and Introduces New Network for Advertisers
Thursday, November 20, 2008
NEW YORK, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- CafeMom.com, the premier online destination for moms, introduces two new sales and marketing positions and unveils the CafeMom Plus Ad Network, a boutique ad network that targets mom-focused Web sites in a way that provides advertisers the opportunity to expand and double audience reach.
Key staff changes at CafeMom include:
Laura Fortner, SVP, Marketing and Insights
Laura Fortner, former CafeMom senior vice president of Sales Strategy and Operations, is promoted to senior vice president, Marketing and Insights. Laura now leads efforts to build CafeMom's profile with consumers, businesses and the media, and serves as Company "spokesmom." She also oversees the strategy and research teams, and is responsible for proving the value of advertising programs, sharing insights with partners, and establishing CafeMom as a leading source of mom expertise and insights in the marketplace.
She is spearheading a number of initiatives to help advertising partners understand more about moms -- what's happening in their lives, what media they are consuming and what they are purchasing. To that end, she is conducting a major study on "Mom 2.0" behaviors with a leading advertising agency -- results to be released in the coming weeks.
In her previous role, Laura was responsible for developing the company's sales offerings, and overseeing the production, management and measurement of all advertising programs. Laura is also part of the team that created and launched the CafeMom Plus Ad Network.
"I'm excited to start my new role in Marketing and Insights," said Laura. "As a mother of three, I understand the real value of a place like CafeMom, a place where moms can go any time to express themselves, get advice, connect with other moms like them or just have fun. I look forward to engaging more and more moms across the country and helping our advertising partners benefit from these connections."
Aimee Higgins, SVP, Sales Strategy and Creative Services
Aimee Higgins joins CafeMom from MySpace, where she was vice president of Sales Development. At MySpace, she was part of the executive team and partnered with senior sales and management teams to develop revenue growth plans. Aimee now leads the sales development and operations efforts for CafeMom, including overseeing sales strategy, efforts to develop custom solutions for advertisers.
"Aimee's experience creating strategic, creative marketing programs will help ensure that our advertising partners implement programs that cut through the clutter and are well received by our mom community," said Michael Sanchez, CEO, CafeMom. "We're thrilled to add her voice to the CafeMom team."
CafeMom Introduces New Network for Advertisers
The CafeMom Plus Ad Network is a group of high-quality Web sites that double CafeMom's audience reach for advertisers from 4 million unique visitors per month to more than 8 million unique visitors. The new network enables CafeMom advertisers to reach sites with complementary audiences, such as Greatschools.net, Sittercity.com, Education.com, Baby-Gaga.com, BettyConfidential.com, SavvySource.com and BabySpot.com.
