Trend Micro(TM) LeakProof(TM) Deployed by Associated Fuel Pump Systems Corporation for Data Protection
Wednesday, December 03, 2008
CUPERTINO, Calif., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Trend Micro, Inc, (TSE: 4704), a
global leader in Internet content security, today announced that Associated
Fuel Pump Systems Corporation (AFCO) has selected Trend Micro LeakProof to
help move the company towards full compliance with new corporate data security
policies and to protect confidential data on AFCO computers.
AFCO manufactures high-quality electric fuel pumps for some of the largest
automotive companies in the world. Recent attention on security in
general -- and preventing data leaks in particular -- have given rise to a
company wide comprehensive initiative aimed at data security, especially at
keeping customer information secure.
Trend Micro LeakProof is protecting the customer and employee privacy and
intellectual property of AFCO by monitoring and preventing information leaks
at the point of use. LeakProof prevents data leaks with a unique approach that
combines endpoint-based policy enforcement with highly accurate fingerprinting
and content matching technology. Two key components, the Anti-Leak Client
software and the DataDNA Server appliance, collaborate to protect sensitive
information assets from data loss, data theft, and insider threats. LeakProof
provides AFCO with the broadest protection for all endpoints whether on or
offline.
"Information is one of our most valuable assets and AFCO decided to
proactively improve our data security," said Lucia Johnson, information and
systems services manager at AFCO. "Trend Micro has been a great partner for us
as we move towards full compliance with our new corporate data security
policies. They provide us with the technical support we need, and the product
enhancements show that they understand both our limitations and the evolving
requirements for comprehensive data security in our industry."
Trend Micro LeakProof guards AFCO's sensitive information at rest, in use,
and in motion. It identifies instances of a violated policy, shows where
employee education is needed and allows insights from the monitoring phase to
enable fine-tuning of the policy for enforcement actions. LeakProof also
provides AFCO with simplified proof of compliance by providing detailed log
maps of violations along with an at-a-glance dashboard that quickly highlights
problematic activity.
"Many companies like AFCO need to know that their data is secure and is in
a place where it is being properly protected and backed up," said Glen Kosaka,
director of DLP marketing at Trend Micro. "We work with companies to establish
procedures for checking out data and to provide visibility into policy
effectiveness so that companies are assured and can prove that they are
achieving the desired level of data protection."
