Wednesday, December 03, 2008
New integrations with industry partners help veterinary practices free up time.
PIEDMONT, Mo., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- McAllister Software Systems, Inc.
announced that version 2009 of AVImark, which will be available at the end of
the year, will contain several new integrations and enhancements designed to
save time and improve efficiencies within a veterinary practice.
"More and more veterinary practices are requesting that their software
integrate with laboratory equipment, reference laboratories, digital imaging,
and other services," said Steven McAllister, president of McAllister Software
Systems. "AVImark version 2008 began responding to this trend through initial
integrations with IDEXX, Abaxis, and AFP Imaging. AVImark 2009 will contain
more integration with others in the veterinary industry, including additional
equipment manufacturers, so veterinarians can work with the vendors they
choose. We're continuing to enable our customers to take advantage of the
added speed, efficiency, and accuracy that comes from cutting-edge
technology."
AVImark 2009 will offer new integrations with the following partners:
-- Sound Technologies, a DICOM integration, which also works with a
modality work list. This includes Sounds TruDR Digital Radiography System and
TruPACS DICOM Image Management Solutions.
-- VDIC, Inc., a professional network of specialists in fields such as
radiology, ultrasound, and cytology. Veterinarians will be able to digitally
send radiographs to this network for evaluation via the VetMedStat link.
-- Veterinary Pharmacy Reference software from Veterinary Software
Associates. This drug formulary and resource will allow veterinarians to
access drug information, including dosing, side effects, and potential
reactions, from the AVImark Client Information Display (CID).
-- Associated Veterinary Purchasing Company, Ltd. (AVP), an electronic
purchase order system that allows Canadian practices to make online purchases
with AVP through AVImark.
-- Odyssey Veterinary Software and its Diagnostic Imaging Atlas (DIA) for
vets, from which veterinarians can pull three-dimensional illustrations
through AVImark to help clients better understand patient conditions and
treatment options.
-- Additional Heska equipment, including the HemaTrue CBC, i-STAT 1, and
DRI-CHEM Vet Chemistry Analyzer, through the Heska DCU (data capture utility).
Test results from lab equipment can be imported directly from equipment via
XML format to a patient's medical history record within AVImark.
-- VCA Antech Diagnostics/Zoasis Corp., allowing AVImark users to download
results from reference laboratories via Zoasis.com directly into their
software.
"Practice management software has truly become the backbone of a
veterinary practice," McAllister said. "When practices can use their software
to instantly link with other laboratories and specialists, quickly access
external resources like drug formularies and patient illustrations, and
decrease the time that they spend on routine tasks, they can free up staff
time to see additional patients throughout the day or focus on other
projects."
AVImark 2009 also integrates with other practice management tools from
McAllister Software Systems, including MSS Data Vault online backup service,
McAllister Payment Solutions credit card processing, MSS Reminder Cards, and
MSS Pet I.D. Cards.
