Tasty Content Entertains Consumers, Attracts Advertisers
DALLAS, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The IndoorDirect digital media company,
operating exclusively in high-volume quick-service and fast casual restaurant
brands across the nation, has announced the launch of theBITE Network. The
program content, a combination of entertainment and advertising, is specially
tailored to reach the 202 million Americans who visit these quick-serve and
casual restaurants each month. theBITE features a new 60-minute lifestyle
program with four dynamic hosts that report on news, entertainment, music and
sports.
theBITE, created and produced by IndoorDirect, currently airs on
IndoorDirect screens in 250 locations nationwide and will be in more than
1,000 locations by the end of the first quarter of 2009, with a presence in
the top 25 DMAs in the country.
"We believe theBITE dramatically raises the quality of out-of-home
programming," said Fred Margolin, CEO of IndoorDirect. "As a powerful new
digital media network focusing on quick-service restaurants, theBITE reaches
its audience with 'primary receptivity' at a time when they aren't distracted
and are out of the house and ready to spend, making it an effective and
measurable outlet for advertisers."
IndoorDirect creates and produces each weekly program to air on its LCD
screens in restaurant dining rooms, providing advertisers with national reach
in a receptive environment. Four talented actors, selected exclusively for
theBITE, host the 60-minute program and report on tailored and customized
content for a range of interests, from the ongoing adventures of animated
"Eloise" to music videos to NASCAR updates and college football features.
Additional content includes movie previews, TV sneak peeks, classic TV,
entertainment news, interactive games and extreme sports. theBITE also
features scrolling text with breaking news, sports updates and localized time
and weather. Catch the latest from theBITE at

theBITE's four hosts -- Joe Gumm, Rance Adams, Hilary Kennedy and Dawn
Neufeld -- were selected based on their acting skills and local and national
broadcast experience. Find out more about the hosts at

BITE Into Prime Audience
In the retail category, quick-service restaurants attract the most people
second only to grocery stores. theBITE airs in restaurant dining rooms
featuring IndoorDirect's 42-inch LCD screens, a setting conducive to
attracting the attention of diners -- on average, dine-in customers spend
25-45 minutes sitting per meal -- during a time when they are ready and open
to taking action on messages presented to them.
"For advertisers, theBITE Network provides a prime audience and solid
measurement," said Margolin. "Our IndoorDirect restaurant partnerships allow
us to tell advertisers with certainty how many people have been in the dining
rooms and when their messages were aired," said Margolin.
According to an Arbitron study of IndoorDirect, nearly two-thirds of the
group (which spanned all consumer demographics) recalled at least one ad that
was featured on the network. Other key research showed:
-- 85 percent of diners noticed the IndoorDirect screens
-- Nine out of 10 customers who noticed the screens in the dining area
spent at least "some" time watching
-- 65 percent of those who noticed the IndoorDirect screens could
successfully recall at least one of the advertisers
theBITE is currently featured in select locations of 14 of the top
national restaurant chains. With the debut of theBITE Network, the company
expects increased viewership and a larger expansion of the digital media
network.
