Global Sources' Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "This has been
one of the toughest years on record for Greater China suppliers. But buyers
continue to source -- only they are looking to place orders with quality
suppliers and doing so with more care. This is leading more buyers to our
channels which offer a complete range of tools to pre-screen and locate
quality suppliers.
"To start, every Global Sources supplier has been verified with at least
three on-site visits before they are included in our online, face-to-face and
print channels. We also offer third-party credit reports and supplier audits
to help buyers further reduce uncertainty. Private Sourcing Events add another
level of comfort for buyers, enabling them to filter potential partners based
on specific requirements.
"Private Sourcing Events, together with our other channels, provide a
complete solution for buyers as they seek highly reliable suppliers in an
economy where every order has to be exactly right."
One confirmed buyer, Senior Merchandise Manager of Creata (Shenzhen) Ltd,
Danny Xu, said: "Consumers today want even more value for the money they
spend. We need suppliers who understand this and know that they cannot cut
corners -- even in a down economy.
"Private Sourcing Events help us find these quality-focused suppliers in
less time. These events have been a valuable tool to our China sourcing
program."
One supplier, General Manager of HKC Group, Andrew Xu, said: "These days,
it is more important than ever to work with financially stable buyers who can
become long-term partners. Private Sourcing Events give us a direct channel to
these kinds of buyers. It is an important face-to-face format that allows us
to present the added value our company and products offer."
