ICE Launches Argus Gasoline and Crack Spread Swaps
Friday, December 05, 2008
LONDON, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Argus Media is pleased to welcome the
launch of two new Argus swaps on ICE's over-the-counter marketplace. From
today, the energy industry will be able to trade and clear Argus Northwest
European Gasoline Swaps and Argus Northwest European Gasoline Swap vs Brent
First Line Swaps on ICE's platform. Argus gasoline prices are the main price
reference for international gasoline spot and term contract physical trade in
northwest Europe and are also used for settlement in the active barge swap
market.
Adrian Binks, publisher and chief executive of Argus said: "The
introduction of these new gasoline and gasoline crack spread swaps by ICE will
add to the range of trading and clearing instruments available to the highly
sophisticated international energy community. The daily Argus gasoline barge
assessment has been the key European industry benchmark for many years and as
such was the natural choice for ICE when deciding which index to use for
settlement. We wish ICE every success with their new suite of contracts."
