Partnership Significantly Expands Collection of Springer Nature Content Available via DeepDyve
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 2, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DeepDyve and Springer Nature today renewed their partnership by significantly expanding the collection of Springer Nature content available via DeepDyve's online rental service for scientific and scholarly research.
DeepDyve customers now have access to Springer Nature's core journals, enabling full-text access to the publisher's portfolio of over 2,500 academic journals. Additionally, DeepDyve now offers access to a large collection of Springer Nature eBooks available to rent or purchase on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Lastly, DeepDyve has added Springer Protocols to its growing collection of more than 65,000 Springer Nature Protocols and Methods.
"Over the years, Springer Nature has proven its deep commitment to make its highly sought-after content available not just through traditional methods, but also via innovative platforms such as DeepDyve," said William Park, DeepDyve's CEO. "The steady expansion of our partnership over the years speaks volumes about DeepDyve's ability to increase Springer Nature's reach and readership to our millions of researchers in the SME sector (Small to Medium-sized Enterprises) who lack institutional access to Springer Nature's extensive collection of content."
The expanded partnership follows a longstanding collaboration between DeepDyve and Springer Nature which began in 2011 with just a subset of its titles available via DeepDyve. Since then, the program has steadily grown in scope to include not just Springer's catalog of titles, but also all of the Nature and Palgrave titles brought about by the merger that unified the two publishers.
"Over the years, DeepDyve has proven that we can capture new customers in the SME space," said Till Moepert, Springer Nature's VP eCommerce, Trade & Indirect Sales. "The company's unique delivery model is the ideal complement to our core offering, and we are pleased to make more content available to DeepDyve's customers."
With the renewed agreement, DeepDyve rental links will continue to appear throughout the SpringerLink, making it possible for visitors who are not affiliated with large institutional libraries to seamlessly access Springer Nature content via DeepDyve. Embedding DeepDyve rental links in SpringerLink provides an ideal complement to the publisher's traditional pay-per-view offering for non-institutional visitors, enabling Springer Nature to more effectively serve the wider research community.
